We are a warm and friendly farming family and we welcome you to stay for Bed and Breakfast – Chambre d’hote, at the Lesterie.
Come and allow yourself to relax and unwind in our family home, in the heart of rural France, where the day to day running of our farm and our involvement in the French farming community gives our guest the opportunity to catch a glimpse of local life.
Our house is a “Masion de Maitre” (Manor House) – set in a hectare of garden with cedar and redwood trees giving the whole area a park like atmosphere.
The house was built around 1880, by a civil servant from Alps en Provence. He incorporated some chalet style criss-cross balconies in the design, reflecting his origins and there are still the old Provence style tiles on the floor in the dining room.
The Interior is comfortably furnished with a mix of family antiques and classic country furniture. A sweeping staircase and a gallery leads to the 4 en-suite guest bedrooms.We (Polly and Stephen Hoare) have lived and farmed at the 150 hectare farm since 1991.Our children Charlotte and Charlie, (who were both born in France and are bilingual) enjoy receiving guests into their home and make them feel comfortable and welcome.
We have many pets including, dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, and - Polly’s passion - ponies (Steve says far too many!).
Lesterie is situated on the main route between the medieval town of Confolens and Limoges.
